What is Moot?

Moot Court is an Appellate-level Court Casse Simulation. Students develop and present effective legal arguments by applying legal precedents and principles to legal issues while engaging in Oral Advocacy and Brief Writing.

Although each year the cases presented are fictitious, the principles of research, writing, and advocacy skills that students developed are fundamental to success - whether it be law, academia, or anything else.

Moot Court immerses students in an experiential learning environment and helps them develop skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork - all while strengthening their ability to assess constitutional issues.

Goals

The primary goals of IMC are to develop strong advocacy skills, enhance legal research and writing, and improve critical thinking and analysis. We aim to build students' confidence in public speaking, foster teamwork and collaboration, and prepare them for successful legal careers. Additionally, we strive to achieve excellence in moot court competitions and instill ethical and professional standards in all aspects of legal practice. Through these goals, we equip students with the practical skills and experiences necessary for future success in law and related fields
